Privacy Policy

We take the privacy rights of our clients very seriously.  This privacy policy sets out how we deal with your ‘personal information’, that is, information that could identify, or is related to the identity of, an individual.

What personal information do We collect?

In order to offer our services to you, we may ask you to provide certain information.  This could include:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Medical history.

To this, over time, we may add details of issues and conditions for which you consult us and share with us during appointments and therapy and/or training sessions. We may also add remedies and other therapies that we have prescribed or recommended and we may also keep notes of personal work and interventions that we have done together.

How do we collect this personal information?

All the information collected is obtained directly from you.  This usually starts at the point of your initial consultation, first workshop, or training day. Some of the information is collected via a ‘medical history form’ which we may ask you to complete prior to or at the first consultation, workshop or training day.

If you work with us in a systemic way (workshop, training or one to one session), then we may take notes and add a brief summary of what we have worked with at the end.

Please note that we do not have cookies on the website nor do we collect information about you via the internet. If you do wish to sign up to my email newsletter then this information can be collected via our website and will be stored on mailchimp or other provider and you can unsubscribe there any time.

How do we use this personal information?

We use the personal information that we collect during our session to analyse the conditions and issues for which you consult us and to prescribe remedies or other therapies, and inform the work that we will do together during a systemic piece of work.

We will communicate with you by email, other digital methods, by telephone and by post.

With whom do we share your personal information?

We never share your personal information with third parties.

How long do we keep your personal information?

We are required to keep your information for as long as you continue to consult us.  Since patients often return for more consultations after a period of absence, we will keep your information for 7 years after your last consultation.  At that point, your file will be securely destroyed and any digital information will be erased from my computer systems.

Children’s notes will be held until they are 24 years old.

How your information can be updated or corrected

To ensure that we have accurate and up-to-date information, you need to inform us of any changes you believe we should make to the personal information we hold.  You can do this by contacting us by any of the methods previously described.

Under data protection legislation, you have the right to inspect the personal information we hold about you.  You can make a request to do so by contacting me and we will endeavour to respond within 14 working days.

How do we store your personal information?

Client files are paper-based and are held securely in a lockable filing cupboard.  We take steps to protect your personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

Your email address, if you have one, is held securely on the servers of our email providers, currently mailchimp.
